Safety Vision was included in an article in Police magazine’s July 2009 issue that highlights digital mobile surveillance technologies and the progress that has been made since the time of analog systems. Capturing video on VHS tapes; manually removing data; and hours spent searching and extracting video clips is now a thing of the past.

As discussed in the Police article, digital is the new wave of mobile surveillance and encompasses high tech features, such as capturing video on DVDs, wireless data transfer, video management solutions, and using hard drives and flash memory cards for data storage.

Safety Vision customer Lt. Kirk Jackson of the LaMarque Police Department has been using Safety Vision’s PatrolRecorder 4C mobile digital video system for 2 years and contributed to the article. Click here to read the entire piece from Police magazine.

If you’re a movie buff, you’ll recognize that famous line, sneered by Bette Davis as Margo Channing in the ’50s classic drama All About Eve.

If you’re a video buff, you’ll want to check out online video-sharing site Vimeo. Vimeo bills itself as “People connecting through video”: a thriving community for people to upload, store, and share video. You could say that our business, too, is people connecting through video–mobile video, that is.

Safety Vision’s first posting on Vimeo was provided by a police car video camera customer here in the great state of Texas. The video depicts a night-time ride that ends when the officer misjudges a turn and flips his vehicle. (This same clip had earlier been posted with other police video clips on policeone.com’s BLUtube.)

This police department uses our four-camera PatrolRecorder 4C in-car patrol video surveillance system. Listen closely, and you’ll note that the system’s audio is automatically triggered by the event. This combination of video and audio recording provides a comprehensive, accurate reconstruction of the scene–before, during, and after an accident or other incident under review. “Just the facts, ma’am,” as Sgt. Joe Friday was given to say.

Hello, welcome to Safety Vision’s blog! We are a Houston-based company founded in 1993 by President/CEO Bruce Smith. To put it simply, we’re in the mobile camera business, with a special focus on rear-vision cameras and mobile digital video recorders (MDVRs). We design, sell, install, and service a full suite of mobile surveillance and visibility enhancing camera systems. Our multidirectional cameras (rear-, side-, or forward-facing) feed video to a cab-mounted monitor; the improved visibility and situational awareness enables drivers to prevent accidents. And our MDVRs record events on and around public transit, emergency response, and other fleet vehicles, worldwide. We also have a line of police in-car patrol video cameras and school bus cameras. If you’re just learning about Safety Vision’s products and services, you’ll want to hear what our existing clients are saying about us.

For more information on our cameras, monitors, MDVRs, and other mobile video equipment, be sure to visit Safety Vision’s product catalog.
