Today was a watershed day, as the analog signal that’s fed television sets in countless living rooms for generations has “gone off the air.” The digital conversion is upon us!

The change has caught many unprepared; wonder how these folks fare at tax time? But most have caught the wave and are ready and eager to embrace “all-digital.” The benefits are immediate, and plentiful. Crisper imagery, more channels to choose from–and no ungainly rabbit ears wrapped in tinfoil! (Am I dating myself, here? I also remember dozing off to the Indian head test pattern at slumber parties, as a girl.)

Likewise, our mobile video surveillance customers in the transit, police, and school sectors are also experiencing a digital conversion. As with digital TV, the benefits are immediate, and plentiful. Customers are increasingly turning to us for help as they replace their aging analog onboard video surveillance systems with the technologically superior yet easier to use mobile digital video recording technologies–now featuring automated wireless download; GPS mapping; and simplified backend management of video, audio, and system health data. Searching, sharing, securing, and storing video the digital way is lightening our customers’ workload and freeing up their time: It sure beats wrangling with a pile of VCR tapes. Digital is, simply, simplifying our customers’ lives!

While the analog signal may have faded to black, we are happy to break our radio silence and once again start broadcasting from this channel. It’s been awhile, but we intend to break that pattern and communicate regularly via this medium. Stay tuned.
